“Your average perfect day” practice

journaling

I have noticed a fun tendency: regardless of the personality type of my client or the complexity of a topic we work on, everyone LOVES creative visualization practices.

This is a journaling practice, so you should use your notebook or computer. What you should do is to write about what your average perfect day would look like.

Don't add any extras (no winning lottery tickets or spontaneous couples getaways). The idea here is to create a detailed list of what an average day looks like, step by step. Be as detailed as possible.

  • Start with your morning. The perfect time for waking up and what that looks like – do you read a book before getting up? Or cuddle with your partner? Maybe do a meditation?

  • Once you’re out of bed, what do you do? Do you make coffee and breakfast first, or shower first? Do you pick out your outfit for the day or did you do that the night before? Is there music, the radio, morning TV in the background? Do you keep your curtains closed or do you prefer the sunlight in your room?

  • If you work, how do you get to work – do you drive? Walk? Whom do you engage with? What does your working day and your desk look like?

  • After work - do you come home or go out? What activities do you do together with your family or friends?

  • Pay special attention to what you eat and wear. Descrie what you have on and what's on your plate.

And so on. Create a day you will never get bored of, that you could happily repeat five or seven days a week. Create it for your workday and your weekend. With or without your partner or kids.

If you do this right, what you’ll begin to see are little habits you can start actioning right away to get you closer to your idea of a perfectly average day.

If you like the creative practices like this, put "+" in comments so that I make sure to post more like those.
